Beat Army...

I figured I would show some class and wait a few days to let the sting of defeat work its way out of the Army blood in our family.

Chris and I left Aimee and Celeste at home (their essays were less than stellar) while we trucked off to Philadelphia, PA on Saturday. As you can see from the left and the right photo (the right one is of Aimee "in action" as she cheers for the Navy), Aimee's spirit was unaffected.

And, there is no question who Chris was cheering for at the game. If you can't tell, he has a Navy Sweatshirt, a Navy-Army t-shirt, a "Beat Army" button, and a "Go Navy, Beat Army" hat on. I just hoped that our tickets were for the "Navy" side of the field!

The pregame show was pretty amazing. We were bummed that the parachutists couldn't land (it was too windy), but we got to see four F-18s and four Apache helicopters come in. That was pretty cool.

SECDEF (is that "former" Secretary of Defense?) showed up.

All in all, it was a good game. Honestly, it looked like the Army wanted it more than Navy did, but, thanks to some poor quarterbacking, Navy was able to pull off a victory. It was not without cost, however. We lost our leading rusher in the first set of downs to a broken leg; so, he is out for our bowl game against Boston College.

And, it was pretty darn cold. Christian's face says it all.

Looks like fun. Such die-hard fans in your kids! I wonder if Chris and Jonathan are going to rumble...or Aimee and Audrey...Hayes and Ranen?

I notice that this post is void of any response from the Army folks.

I guess the sting of defeat yet remains.
